Um terremoto de 7,1 graus de magnitude atingiu nesta quinta-feira (8) as costas da ilha de Kyushu, sul do Jap\u00e3o, informou o Centro Geol\u00f3gico dos Estados Unidos (USGS). A ag\u00eancia de meteorologia local emitiu um alerta para o risco de tsunami.<\/p>\n

O terremoto potente aconteceu \u00e0s 16h42 (4h42 de Bras\u00edlia) na costa de Kyushu, a uma profundidade de 25 quil\u00f4metros, informou o USGS, que inicialmente anunciou dois tremores consecutivos.<\/p>\n

“O erro foi corrigido. Apenas um evento foi registrado”, afirmou o Centro Geol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n

A Ag\u00eancia Meteorol\u00f3gica Japonesa (JMA) relatou um terremoto de magnitude 7,1 e emitiu um alerta devido ao risco de tsunami.<\/p>\n

“Por favor, n\u00e3o entrem no mar, nem se aproximem da costa at\u00e9 o fim do alerta”, anunciou a ag\u00eancia na rede social X.<\/p>\n

N\u00e3o foram registrados danos at\u00e9 o momento, mas o governo japon\u00eas informou em um comunicado que criou um grupo de trabalho para coordenar a resposta ao terremoto.<\/p>\n

Uma hora depois do terremoto, foram registradas ondas de 50 cent\u00edmetros, 20 cent\u00edmetros e 10 cent\u00edmetros em alguns locais, informou a JMA.<\/p>\n

O Centro de Alerta de Tsunamis do Pac\u00edfico emitiu um alerta para o risco de ondas perigosas em um raio de 300 quil\u00f4metros ao redor do epicentro.<\/p>\n

O Jap\u00e3o fica sobre quatro grandes placas tect\u00f4nicas, no “C\u00edrculo de Fogo” do Pac\u00edfico, e \u00e9 um dos pa\u00edses com maior atividade s\u00edsmica do mundo.<\/p>\n

O arquip\u00e9lago, que tem 125 milh\u00f5es de habitantes, registra quase 1.500 terremotos por ano, o que corresponde a 18% dos tremores registrados no mundo.<\/p>\n

A maioria dos terremotos \u00e9 leve, mas os danos variam de acordo com o epicentro e a profundidade.<\/p>\n

As normas severas de constru\u00e7\u00e3o anti-s\u00edsmica permitem que mesmo tremores fortes provoquem poucos danos.<\/p>\n
