O comandante do veleiro de luxo<\/strong> Bayesian<\/strong> , cujo naufr\u00e1gio<\/strong> no sul da It\u00e1lia<\/strong> deixou sete mortos, incluindo o bilion\u00e1rio brit\u00e2nico Mike Lynch e sua filha, Hannah<\/a> , foi colocado oficialmente sob investiga\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong> nesta segunda-feira (26).<\/p>\n

O neozeland\u00eas James Cutfield, de 51 anos, \u00e9 um dos 15 sobreviventes da trag\u00e9dia ocorrida na \u00faltima segunda (19), quando iate Bayesian naufragou em meio a uma onda de mau tempo no Porto de Porticello, na prov\u00edncia de Palermo.<\/p>\n

O Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico de Termini Imerese investiga Cutfield por naufr\u00e1gio e m\u00faltiplas acusa\u00e7\u00f5es de homic\u00eddio culposo em decorr\u00eancia das mortes das sete v\u00edtimas, informou o jornal italiano “La Repubblica”.<\/p>\n

A decis\u00e3o \u00e9 tomada um dia ap\u00f3s o comandante ser interrogado pela segunda vez em uma semana no \u00faltimo domingo (25), por cerca de duas horas.<\/p>\n

Na ocasi\u00e3o, o capit\u00e3o respondeu a perguntas sobre a posi\u00e7\u00e3o do veleiro e dos botes, se portas e escotilhas estavam fechadas e quando o alarme foi disparado depois que o Bayesian foi atingido por uma tromba d’\u00e1gua semelhante a um tornado, segundo fontes oficiais.<\/p>\n

As autoridades tamb\u00e9m levaram em considera\u00e7\u00e3o os aproximadamente 32 minutos entre o momento em que o superiate de 56 metros de comprimento come\u00e7ou a ser inundado e o per\u00edodo em que um sinalizador vermelho foi lan\u00e7ado de um bote salva-vidas, \u00e0s 4h38 (hor\u00e1rio local) da segunda-feira.<\/p>\n

A investiga\u00e7\u00e3o aberta oficialmente sobre a potencial responsabilidade do capit\u00e3o no acidente foi um passo fundamental para os promotores prosseguirem com as aut\u00f3psias nas sete v\u00edtimas que v\u00e3o ser realizadas pelos m\u00e9dicos do instituto de medicina legal do hospital local, explicaram as autoridades.<\/p>\n

Durante o novo interrogat\u00f3rio, segundo a imprensa italiana, Cutfield foi informado de que est\u00e1 sob investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e foi convidado a escolher um endere\u00e7o no pa\u00eds e a nomear um advogado de defesa.<\/p>\n

Origin\u00e1rio da Nova Zel\u00e2ndia, o comandante \u00e9 considerado um profissional experiente, tendo em vista que trabalhou durante anos a bordo de grandes embarca\u00e7\u00f5es e que conhece bem o Mediterr\u00e2neo. Antes de ser contratado por Lynch, ele trabalhava para um bilion\u00e1rio turco.<\/p>\n

No \u00faltimo fim de semana, o procurador italiano Ambrogio Cartosio, que investiga o naufr\u00e1gio, afirmou em coletiva de imprensa que “n\u00e3o exclui qualquer hip\u00f3tese por tr\u00e1s da trag\u00e9dia” e que considera “fundamental” recuperar o veleiro do mar para esclarecer tudo.<\/p>\n

O “Bayesian” afundou na noite da segunda-feira passada na costa da cidade siciliana de Porticello no meio de uma forte tempestade e sete das 22 pessoas a bordo morreram no naufr\u00e1gio.<\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m de Lynch e sua filha, Hannah, de 18 anos, a trag\u00e9dia matou Ricardo Thomas, cozinheiro da embarca\u00e7\u00e3o; Jonathan Bloomer, presidente do banco Morgan Stanley International, e sua esposa, Judy Bloomer; o advogado de Lynch, Chris Morvillo, e sua mulher, a designer de joias Neda Morvillo.<\/p>\n
