O ministro da Fazenda, Fernando Haddad, sugeriu ao presidente Luiz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva definir o novo presidente do Banco Central (BC) entre o fim de agosto e o in\u00edcio de setembro. Em participa\u00e7\u00e3o por teleconfer\u00eancia em um evento promovido pelo Banco Santander, Haddad informou que discutiu a data ideal para o an\u00fancio do futuro nome com o atual presidente do BC, Roberto Campos Neto.<\/p>\n

\u201cFiz quest\u00e3o de consultar o Roberto Campos Neto para que a transi\u00e7\u00e3o fosse mais longa [com a indica\u00e7\u00e3o saindo at\u00e9 setembro para a troca de comando em 2025]. Acredito que o presidente [Lula] j\u00e1 est\u00e1 considerando o assunto\u201d, afirmou Haddad.<\/p>\n

Segundo Haddad, a conversa com Campos Neto ocorreu no in\u00edcio do ano, antes de as tens\u00f5es entre Lula e o presidente do BC se agravarem. O ministro, no entanto, disse que a decis\u00e3o sobre o momento da indica\u00e7\u00e3o do futuro comandante do BC depende de Lula.<\/p>\n

\u201cEu cumpri uma formalidade que me parece mais do que um gesto de educa\u00e7\u00e3o, que foi conversar com Roberto Campos Neto sobre isso. N\u00f3s dois chegamos \u00e0 conclus\u00e3o, que foi levada ao presidente Lula, de que agosto seria um bom m\u00eas de an\u00fancio para que houvesse um prazo de transi\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d, disse.<\/p>\n

No in\u00edcio da noite, o l\u00edder do Governo no Senado, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), disse acreditar que a indica\u00e7\u00e3o e a sabatina do futuro presidente do BC sair\u00e3o at\u00e9 a segunda semana de setembro. Na primeira semana do m\u00eas, o Senado far\u00e1 um esfor\u00e7o concentrado de vota\u00e7\u00f5es, em meio \u00e0 campanha para as elei\u00e7\u00f5es municipais. No entanto, Wagner afirmou que o esfor\u00e7o poder\u00e1 ser estendido para a semana seguinte, de 9 a 13 de setembro.<\/p>\n

No fim do ano, acaba o mandato de Campos Neto e dos diretores de Regula\u00e7\u00e3o, Ot\u00e1vio Damaso, e de Relacionamento, Carolina Barros. O governo ainda n\u00e3o definiu se indicar\u00e1 os tr\u00eas nomes de uma s\u00f3 vez ou se deixar\u00e1 a indica\u00e7\u00e3o dos diretores para o fim do ano.<\/p>\n
