Em fun\u00e7\u00e3o da condena\u00e7\u00e3o, o&nbsp;<strong>tribunal determinou a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de elei\u00e7\u00f5es indiretas para o mandato-tamp\u00e3o<\/strong>. O pleito indireto ocorre por meio dos votos de deputados da Assembleia Legislativa do Rio de Janeiro (Alerj).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contudo, o PSD recorreu ao Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) e defendeu elei\u00e7\u00f5es diretas. No dia anterior ao julgamento,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br\/politica\/noticia\/2026-03\/entenda-o-que-acontece-no-rio-com-renuncia-de-claudio-castro\">Castro renunciou ao mandato<\/a>&nbsp;para cumprir o prazo de desincompatibiliza\u00e7\u00e3o para se candidatar ao Senado<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A medida foi vista como uma manobra para for\u00e7ar a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de elei\u00e7\u00f5es indiretas, e n\u00e3o diretas, que ocorrem pelo voto popular.&nbsp;<strong>O ex-governador poderia deixar o cargo at\u00e9 o dia 4 de abril.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br\/justica\/noticia\/2026-04\/stf-tem-placar-de-4-a-1-para-eleicoes-indireta-no-rio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">O STF aguarda o julgamento do recurso no TSE<\/a>&nbsp;para decidir se as elei\u00e7\u00f5es ser\u00e3o diretas ou indiretas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A elei\u00e7\u00e3o para o mandato-tamp\u00e3o dever\u00e1 ser realizada porque a linha sucess\u00f3ria do estado est\u00e1 desfalcada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O ex-vice-governador Thiago Pampolha deixou o cargo, em 2025, para assumir uma vaga no Tribunal de Contas do estado.
