A Pol\u00edcia Federal no Par\u00e1 deflagrou, na manh\u00e3 desta ter\u00e7a-feira (8), a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Dever Legal, que investiga suspeitos de envolvimento com garimpos ilegais e com a tentativa de homic\u00eddio contra policiais federais e servidores do Instituto Chico Mendes de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Biodiversidade (ICMBio), \u00f3rg\u00e3o vinculado ao Minist\u00e9rio do Meio Ambiente e Mudan\u00e7a do Clima (MMA).\u00a0<\/p>\n

A PF cumpre quatro mandados de busca e apreens\u00e3o expedidos pela Justi\u00e7a Federal, todos no munic\u00edpio de Itaituba (PA), a 1.320 quil\u00f4metros\u00a0de Bel\u00e9m.<\/p>\n

As investiga\u00e7\u00f5es tiveram in\u00edcio ap\u00f3s uma opera\u00e7\u00e3o conjunta da PF e ICMBio, em abril de 2023, para reprimir garimpagem ilegal em unidades de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o federais, na regi\u00e3o de Itaituba. No curso da opera\u00e7\u00e3o, enquanto os servidores p\u00fablicos federais inutilizavam as instala\u00e7\u00f5es e o maquin\u00e1rio, eles sofreram uma emboscada e houve a tentativa de homic\u00eddio. As investiga\u00e7\u00f5es policiais indicam que envolvidos com garimpos ilegais alvos da a\u00e7\u00e3o teriam realizado os disparos com arma de fogo.<\/p>\n

Os alvos da opera\u00e7\u00e3o desta ter\u00e7a-feira s\u00e3o investigados, dentre outros, por crimes ambientais diversos; de usurpa\u00e7\u00e3o de patrim\u00f4nio da Uni\u00e3o; e tentativas de homic\u00eddio qualificado. De acordo com a Pol\u00edcia Federal, se somadas, as penas podem ultrapassar os 30 anos de pris\u00e3o.<\/p>\n
