O contraventor A\u00edlton Guimar\u00e3es Jorge, o Capit\u00e3o Guimar\u00e3es, foi preso hoje (1\u00ba), em casa, em Camboinhas, na regi\u00e3o oce\u00e2nica de Niter\u00f3i, como principal alvo da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mahyah<\/em>, um desdobramento da Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Sic\u00e1rio, realizada em 7 de dezembro<\/a> do ano passado, quando o contraventor tamb\u00e9m tinha sido preso em casa.<\/p>\n

A a\u00e7\u00e3o de hoje foi contra tr\u00eas n\u00facleos criminosos<\/a>, subordinados ao mesmo bicheiro, que controlam o monop\u00f3lio de jogos de azar e explora\u00e7\u00e3o de bingos clandestinos na Ilha do Governador, Niter\u00f3i, S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo e no Esp\u00edrito Santo. De acordo com os investigadores, a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o criminosa pratica, de maneira ordenada, diversos crimes, como homic\u00eddios, corrup\u00e7\u00e3o passiva e porte ilegal de armas de fogo.<\/p>\n

A investiga\u00e7\u00e3o foi realizada em conjunto pela Pol\u00edcia Federal e o Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico do Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ), em cumprimento a 13 mandados de pris\u00e3o preventiva e 19 de busca e apreens\u00e3o, expedidos pela 2\u00aa Vara Criminal Especializada do Tribunal de Justi\u00e7a do Rio nos estados do Rio de Janeiro e do Esp\u00edrito Santo, em endere\u00e7os ligados aos integrantes da organiza\u00e7\u00e3o criminosa.<\/p>\n

O Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico informou, por meio de nota, que at\u00e9 o in\u00edcio da tarde, 12 pessoas foram presas, sendo nove denunciados e alvos de mandados e outros tr\u00eas em flagrante, entre os presos, o contraventor Capit\u00e3o Guimar\u00e3es, um policial civil e policiais militares.<\/p>\n

O nome da opera\u00e7\u00e3o Mahyah <\/em>remete \u00e0 origem da palavra m\u00e1fia, que prov\u00e9m de um termo do dialeto siciliano (m\u00e1fia), inspirado em mahyah que, em \u00e1rabe, significa aud\u00e1cia.<\/p>\n
