As For\u00e7as de Defesa de Israel (FDI) afirmaram ter destru\u00eddo uma rede de t\u00faneis<\/a> e um dos \u201capartamentos-esconderijo\u201d do segundo maior l\u00edder do Hamas em Gaza, Yahya Sinwar.<\/p>\n

De acordo com os militares israelenses, a 14\u00aa Brigada de Combate de Reserva das FDI localizou e destruiu o apartamento de Sinwar, perto da cidade de Gaza “nas \u00faltimas semanas”.<\/p>\n

O local, conforme as FDI, fazia parte de uma “longa e ramificada rede de t\u00faneis” que era usada por altos funcion\u00e1rios do Hamas. Soldados da Unidade Yahalom descobriram um t\u00fanel de 20 metros de profundidade no subsolo durante uma inspe\u00e7\u00e3o do apartamento.<\/p>\n

O po\u00e7o levava a um t\u00fanel<\/strong> de 218 metros de comprimento que contava com uma infraestrutura de ventila\u00e7\u00e3o, esgoto, rede el\u00e9trica, salas de ora\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

“O t\u00fanel<\/a> foi constru\u00eddo para que fosse poss\u00edvel permanecer dentro dele e conduzir combates a partir dele por longos per\u00edodos de tempo”, informaram os militares israelenses. Depois de identificado, o t\u00fanel foi destru\u00eddo pela Unidade Yahalom.<\/p>\n

As for\u00e7as israelenses j\u00e1 afirmaram ter cercado a casa de Sinwar no in\u00edcio do m\u00eas, mas que ele n\u00e3o estava no local e as FDI acreditavam que ele estava escondido no subsolo em Gaza. \u00c0 \u00e9poca, um conselheiro s\u00eanior do premi\u00ea israelense, Benjamin Netanyahu,<\/a> disse que era \u201capenas uma quest\u00e3o de tempo at\u00e9 o capturarmos\u201d.<\/p>\n

Israel<\/strong> tamb\u00e9m havia acusado Sinwar publicamente de ser o “c\u00e9rebro” por tr\u00e1s do ataque surpresa do Hamas<\/strong> contra o pa\u00eds em 7 de outubro,<\/a> tornando-o um dos principais alvos da guerra.<\/p>\n

Sinwar foi eleito para o principal \u00f3rg\u00e3o de decis\u00e3o do Hamas em 2017, como l\u00edder pol\u00edtico do grupo extremista isl\u00e2mico<\/strong> na filial de Gaza. De acordo com uma pesquisa do Conselho Europeu de Rela\u00e7\u00f5es Exteriores (ECFR), no entanto, desde ent\u00e3o ele se tornou o l\u00edder do \u00f3rg\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m disso, desde 2015, ele foi identificado como terrorista global pelo Departamento de Estado dos EUA e, recentemente, sancionado pelo Reino Unido e pela Fran\u00e7a.<\/p>\n
