Depois de registrar preju\u00edzo de R$ 298,5 bilh\u00f5es em 2022, o BC teve preju\u00edzo de R$ 114,2 bilh\u00f5es em 2023. O Conselho Monet\u00e1rio Nacional (CMN) aprovou nesta quinta-feira (28), em Bras\u00edlia, o balan\u00e7o do banco no ano passado.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br\/ebc.png?id=1587992&#038;o=node\" style=\"width:1px;height:1px\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br\/ebc.gif?id=1587992&#038;o=node\" style=\"width:1px;height:1px\"><\/p>\n<p>Em 2023, houve preju\u00edzo de R$ 123 bilh\u00f5es que se referem a opera\u00e7\u00f5es cambiais, como <em>swap<\/em> (venda de d\u00f3lares no mercado futuro) e varia\u00e7\u00e3o das reservas internacionais. Isso ocorre porque o d\u00f3lar caiu 7,86% no ano passado, o que provoca perdas na hora de converter as opera\u00e7\u00f5es cambiais em reais.<\/p>\n<p>O preju\u00edzo de 2023 s\u00f3 n\u00e3o foi maior porque o Banco Central teve lucro operacional (ganhos com o exerc\u00edcio da atividade) de R$ 8 bilh\u00f5es em 2023. Ao somar os resultados cambiais e operacionais, chega-se ao preju\u00edzo final de R$ 114,2 bilh\u00f5es.<\/p>\n<h2>Cobertura<\/h2>\n<p>Por causa da legisla\u00e7\u00e3o de 2019 que regulamenta a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre o Banco Central e o Tesouro, a destina\u00e7\u00e3o dos lucros da autoridade monet\u00e1ria mudou. Do preju\u00edzo total, o Tesouro ter\u00e1 de cobrir R$ 111,2 bilh\u00f5es com t\u00edtulos p\u00fablicos. Do restante, R$ 3 bilh\u00f5es ser\u00e3o cobertos por meio de redu\u00e7\u00e3o de patrim\u00f4nio do BC.<\/p>\n<p>O \u00faltimo resultado positivo apurado pelo BC foi em 2021, quando ele teve lucro recorde de R$ 85,9 bilh\u00f5es.<\/p>\n<p>Na ocasi\u00e3o, o Banco Central criou uma reserva de lucros para cobrir perdas nos anos seguintes.
