Com a ajuda de um teleprompter para ler seu breve discurso em celebra\u00e7\u00e3o do Dia da Independ\u00eancia americana, comemorado nesta quinta (4), o presidente norte-americano, Joe Biden, afirmou que n\u00e3o pretende desistir<\/a> da disputa pela chefia da Casa Branca.<\/p>\n

“N\u00e3o vou a lugar nenhum”, disse o mandat\u00e1rio em resposta a uma pessoa da plateia que pediu que ele desistisse do pleito.<\/p>\n

A declara\u00e7\u00e3o ocorreu no mesmo dia em que Abigail Disney, herdeira da fortuna da Walt Disney Company, afirmou que suspenderia as doa\u00e7\u00f5es ao partido democrata at\u00e9 que Biden desistisse da candidatura. Ela j\u00e1 doou mais de US$ 50 milh\u00f5es (cerca de R$ 285 milh\u00f5es) para o grupo ao comit\u00ea de a\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica de Jane Fonda, e US$ 35 mil (cerca de R$ 193 mil) aos democratas que concorrem a cadeiras no Congresso, segundo informa\u00e7\u00f5es do OpenSecrets.<\/p>\n

“Pretendo interromper quaisquer contribui\u00e7\u00f5es ao partido, a menos e at\u00e9 que substituam Biden como l\u00edder da chapa. Biden \u00e9 um bom homem e serviu admiravelmente o seu pa\u00eds, mas os riscos s\u00e3o demasiado elevados”, disse Abigail Disney \u00e0 rede CNBC. “Se Biden n\u00e3o renunciar, os democratas perder\u00e3o. Disso estou absolutamente certa. As consequ\u00eancias da perda ser\u00e3o terr\u00edveis”, afirmou a documentarista.<\/p>\n

Vulnerabilidade pol\u00edtica<\/h3>\n

Biden tem sido pressionado por diversos setores da economia e da m\u00eddia americana devido ao seu desempenho nos debates, considerado desastroso pelos apoiadores e pelo p\u00fablico geral.<\/p>\n

Ele mesmo chegou a classificar o evento como “uma noite ruim”.<\/p>\n

Apesar de demonstrar resist\u00eancia em seus discursos, Biden j\u00e1 tem sinalizado aos apoiadores que entende que sua viabilidade como candidato est\u00e1 em jogo, segundo informa\u00e7\u00f5es do jornal The New York Times.<\/p>\n
